ZIFA president Felton Kamambo
MASVINGO – ZIFA president Felton Kamambo has said that local football is set to resume in November with clubs being given the leeway to launch their campaigns before February.
Kamambo said the leeway is to allow clubs to train and meet COVID-19 set precautions.
He however, stated that clubs which begin their campaigns after others will have to play midweek games to level up with other clubs before the season ends.
Kamambo said this at a farewell party for long serving ZIFA Eastern Region administrator Tedious Machawira held at Chevron Hotel on Saturday.
He was accompanied by ZIFA CEO Joseph Mamutse, ZIFA board member in charge of competitions Sugar Chagonda, ZIFA spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela, ZIFA Eastern Region chairperson Davison Muchena among others.
“Training is set to resume on October 14 for all teams with the league set to begin in November. Each team will choose when to begin its campaign because some clubs need time to train and meet Covid-19 regulations.
“Teams which however, choose to begin their campaigns after the set date will have to play midweek games because the season will end on a set date and every team should have completed its games,” said Kamambo. https://masvingomirror.com
