MASVINGO – A-29-year-old Mucheke landlord was yesterday sentenced to three years in prison for attempting to rape a GZU student who rented at his place in Mucheke.
One year was suspended, leaving the accused with an effective two-year jail term.
Ironically Kudakwashe Zana made a scene at The Mirror last week threatening journalists for reporting on the case which he said was a lie and that he was being framed.

A naked Zana sneaked into the GZU student’s room and went on top of the student.
The matter was heard by Magistrate Farai Gwitima and Tarisai Muvengi prosecuted. The accused was represented by Calisto Mutema of Ruvengo and Maboke Legal Practitioners.
On April 2,2022 at 9:30pm Zana entered into complainant’s bedroom without a shirt and his inner shorts dropped to knee level. The complainant was disturbed from her sleep when she felt the accused’s full weight on her. She switched on the lights and saw Zana lying on her bed naked.

Zana gained entrance into the complainant’s bedroom since the key handle was out of order and the doors were next to each other.
The complainant asked Zana to leave her bedroom but Zana allegedly grabbed her buttocks. The accused later went back to his room and the complainant phoned her friend.
Magistrate Gwitima set aside one year and Zana was left with two years in jail effectively.https://masvingomirror.com/
