KWEKWE – Kwekwe will this year host Midlands Provincial Independence Celebrations, the Minister of State for Midlands Owen Ncube has said.
The celebrations will be at Mbizo Stadium on April 18.
This year’s commemorations will be held under the theme: Zimbabwe at 44 Unity, Peace, and Development towards Vision 2030.
Addressing the Midlands Provincial Joint State Occasions Committee at Kwekwe Civic Center on Monday, Ncube said Kwekwe will host the provincial event for the first time after Government decided to rotate the venue for the commemorations.
All along the event was held at Mkoba Stadium in Gweru.
He said the host town will benefit from increased business activities, rehabilitation of infrastructure such as water and roads.
