KWEKWE – City of Kwekwe has procured service delivery equipment including a grader, front end loader, speed boat, five service vehicles and 10 skip bins valued at over US$673 424.
The equipment was commissioned by Midlands Minister of State, Owen Ncube at council offices on Wednesday.
Kwekwe Central Constituency legislator Judith Tobaiwa also attended the commissioning.
Ncube commended council for procuring the equipment using its own revenue.
“The equipment I am commissioning today was procured using council’s own revenue, totaling over US$ 600 000, which is commendable since residents deserve improved service delivery from the payments they make to council,” he said.
Tobaiwa applauded the residents and council leadership for working together to better service delivery in the city.
“I would like to commend the residents of Kwekwe for supporting their council in its development agenda. I also want to applaud Kwekwe for setting aside political differences for the development of this city,” said Tobaiwa.
