SHURUGWI – Kushinga Secondary school in Shurugwi has received its share of Information Communication Technology (ICT) equipment donated by President Mnangagwa.
The equipment, 20 laptops, printer, projector and white board were handed over by Midlands Minister of State, Owen Ncube last Friday.
Mnangagwa donated the equipment to rural schools through the Ministry of Information, Communication, Technology Postal and Courier Services (ICT) on March 7 this year when he launched the National ICT Policy and Schools ICT labs and clinic connectivity in the Midlands.
Ncube said the equipment is in line with Government’s Education 5.0 initiative which seeks to enhance E-learning and strengthen universal access to education.
“These laptops are part of the boarder strategy by Government to modernise rural schools across the province from Mberengwa to Gokwe. This project came with a vast changing technology and will transform the education sector.
“I urge learners to fully utilise these laptops and take the studies seriously. I want to applaud government for approving the license of the world renowned satellite based internet provider Starlink. This is the opportunity to learn and I urge all girls to desist from child marriages. There is nothing special in early marriages, equip yourself first,” said Ncube.
