Wangu Mazodze bus involved in accident

CHIMANIMANI -Masvingo -based Eastern Region Soccer League side FC Wangu Mazodze’s bus have been involved in an accident at Makondo Bridge in Rusitu Chimanimani.

The accident happened at around 2pm today.

When Mirror crew arrived , some people were still trapped under the bus.

A lot of people were injured and ferried to Chipinge Hospital.

So far the number of casualties is not yet known.

People who spoke to Mirror Sport said the bus was carrying supporters and few players.

“ I am in pain. We were in the bus together with the players. The bus developed a fault and first eleven players were put in the kombi. The bus was fixed and we continued with our journey. To be honest I don’t even know what happened. I just saw myself in the water,” said one supporter.

One woman Grace Moyo who was coming from church said the bus was speeding.

“ The bus passed us in the road. It was overspeeding. It happened in our face. Villagers rushed to assist the players and supporters in the bus.

Wangu Mazodze was going to play Rusitu Tigers FC in an ERSL match at Chirombo Stadium.
