I look after my family from mbanje proceeds – Mberengwa woman

Mberengwa – A 23-year old woman dragged to court for allegedly selling mbanje begged with the magistrate for leniency as she looks after her children from the proceeds of dagga.
Plaxedes Nkomo (23) from Chief Mposi area in Mberengwa pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of drugs when she appeared before Mberengwa magistrate Caroline Nyoni on two weeks ago.
She was found with 66 twists of dagga in her bedroom at Danga business Center in Mberengwa.
Nkomo pleaded guilty and said she is a single mother looking after two children and begged the magistrate to remand her out of custody. The magistrate however remanded her in custody for sentence.
Prosecutor Ali Mutausi said detectives on patrol from Mberengwa Police Station received information that Nkomo was in possession of dagga and they searched her bedroom which is behind a cocktail bar at Danga. They found 66 twists weighing 172 grammes in a plastic bag.
