Huruyadzo envisions youth, community empowerment
MASVINGO-Zanu PF Chivi Ward 30 candidate and businessman Stoneshed ‘Huruyadzo’ Chikambure has said that his vision is the betterment of livelihoods in the semi-arid district.
He told The Mirror in an interview that if elected into office, he will work towards improving Information Communication Technology (ICT). Huruyadzo said youth are falling behind as a few have access to the internet.
He is also carrying out several projects in his ward as the rehabilitation of roads, installing boreholes, poultry projects for women, fixing three tower lights at the growth point and donating fencing material to several irrigation schemes.
“I am giving back to the community that made me. I hope to serve it more should I be elected into council. Chivi has the potential to become a rich district. I am grateful to President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Chivi Central constituency candidate Exevia Maoneke for supporting me.
We carried out various projects in Muzvidziwa and Muchekeza Villages. We handed over 300 metres of security fence to an irrigation scheme in Muzvidziwa Village,” he said.
He also said that if elected, he shall work on improving service delivery and decentralizing services, improving Information Communication Technology (ICT) for youth to participate and contribute to the digital world.
Huruyadzo is the proprietor of several establishments in the sprawling district as shops, bars, transport and real estate.
“I am happy with the support that the electorate is showing me, Maoneke and Zanu PF as we gear for next week’s election. The electorate should choose servants who will serve their interests and not seek to better themselves. We will serve as instructed by the community,” he said.
