Moreblessing (35) who acted in the ZBC-aired Forbidden Truth Drama died at Gutu Mission Hospital on Friday. She was ill for two months. The drama was sponsored by Zim Digital.

She died when her group was shooting another drama series called Roora and she was one of the main actors.

Moreblessing was buried at the newly opened Mushaviri Cemetery just outside Mpandawana and both Zanu PF and former members of CCC were present at the funeral. Winston Chitando sent his condolence message while Matthew Takaona who represented CCC in the 2023 Gutu Central Parliamentary elections attended the funeral.

Gutu urban Ward 33 Councillor Bernard Chimwango described Moreblessing as a woman of the people as evidenced by the big turnout from people from all walks of life and across the political divide

Moreblessing acted in four other well-received drama acts including Born To Suffer, Dawn to Dusk, Mbereko and Curse the Soul. All the four scripts were authored by different writers who are Noster Mukaro, Vitalis Gundani, Privilege Zvemashakwe and Collick Mundoga respectively.

“Moreblessing was a very good actor and she did exceptionally well when she played a sorrowful role. She would also act in roles where she was a girl in love,” said Paidamoyo Mutanda who directed Born To Suffer and was one of the co-actors.

Moreblessing was a member of Gutu Family of Arts Group.

Her brother Samuel Mawere described his sister as a quiet but jovial person who was a very good actress.

“Mobie was not feeling well. She succumbed to tonsils. We took her to 24-hour Medical Centre in Gutu on Sunday where she was rushed to Gutu Mission the same day and was admitted. Her condition got serious on Thursday and she died around 3am on Friday,” said Mawere.

Moreblessing was born at the same hospital where she died. She attended Gutu United Primary and Mpandawana High School. She started acting after leaving school.

She was born in a family of five and she leaves behind a daughter, Anotidaishe.
