Hippo Valley holds career guidance

CHIREDZI – Tongaat-run Hippo Valley High School held its inaugural career guidance attended by workers from some of the country’s large companies recently.
Chiredzi District Schools Inspector (DSI), Aleta Makomeke was the guest of honour.
The companies and organisations that exhibited at the career guidance included CBZ Bank, National Aids Council (NAC), Zimbabwe Sugar Association (ZSA), Tongaat Hulett Zimbabwe (THZ), Avuxeni FM, Wildveld Safaris, Safeways Driving School, ZESA, the Zimbabwe Republic Police, and former alumni of the school.
Makomeke hailed the school for arranging the career guidance arguing that the event is important in motivating, guiding and creating a clear vision for the students.
“Career guidance plays a pivotal role in guiding our students to have a clear vision, be motivated by the presence of professionals from various fields, and ultimately make informed decisions about their future career paths,” said Makomeke.
Makomeke who is a former Hippo Valley High student commended the school for introducing dedicated career guidance program.
The School’s Responsible Authority representative from THZ, Lovemore Matikinyidze, praised the school for organizing such a valuable program and encouraged continued investment in similar initiatives.
“You are a beacon of excellence within Tongaat; please continue your commendable efforts,” Matikinyidze remarked.Tanyaradzwa Manyanye, the head girl of the school, expressed her gratitude towards the event organizers, highlighting how seeing accomplished former students like Makomeke inspired her to strive for greater heights. Clopas Madyira, the headboy said that he wanted to pursue Medicine and is now more inspired.
