Hippo High teacher elected Masvingo Sports Director

CHIREDZI – Hippo Valley High school sports director Denford Kwashirai is the new Masvingo schools Province Sports Director.
He was elected unanimously last Tuesday at Masvingo Christian College. He will serve a four year term. Kwashirai replaces Pamushana High School teacher Bernard Matenga.
Kwashirai confirmed his appointment in an interview with The Mirror. He said his vision is to uphold sport principles and eradicate cheating and fight drug and substance abuse.
“I am grateful for this appointment, my hope is to uphold sport principals by eradicating cheating in sports and also fight drug abuse,” said Kwashirai.
Kwashirai is an athletics coach at provincial, national and Confederation of Southern Africa Schools Sports Association (COSASSA). He has served as Chiredzi District Sports Organiser since 2018.
He is a musical arts teacher and he joined the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education in 2005 as a teacher at Samba Satellite High School in Chiredzi.
He joined Hippo Valley High in 2007 and became the school sports coach. He rose to become the school sports director in 2011. He also coaches volleyball and athletics.
