Gweru TC wins CEO’s Network award

MIDLANDS BUREAU-Gweru City Council Acting Town Clerk Vakai Chikwekwe has won the 2022 Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Gold Class Award.
Chikwekwe won the award at a colourful ceremony hosted by the Zimbabwe CEO’s Network in Harare recently. Chikwekwe said he was delighted to receive the top gong in an interview with The Mirror.
The Zimbabwe CEO’s Network is an executive CEO peer group organisation that leads opportunities for learning and development through peer group meetings facilitated by experienced CEO Group Leaders, targeted one – to- one mentoring, a customized curriculum and focused learning events throughout the year.
“I am delighted to receive this top accolade and I am humbled that others have seen the potential in me. You cannot judge yourself but people judge you according to your performance and hard work.
“I believe that team work always produces good results and as Gweru City Council, we work together as a team to achieve service delivery goals,” he said.
He said discipline was another organisational tool for success.
“I also want to applaud the Government ‘s newly performance-based contracts which requires people to work extra hard to produce good results,” he said.
