Gweru man who raped long-lost daughter in court

Gweru – A 51 -year-old Mkoba man who allegedly raped her daughter who had visited him for the first time soon after Xmas last year has appeared at the Gweru Magistrates Courts.

The daughter is 15.

He appeared before magistrate Tayengwa Sangster and was remanded to February 12, 2021.

It is the State case that on December 27, 2020, the minor who had discovered her father’s location went to visit him in Mkoba 12, Gweru where the latter rented one room.

When bed time came, the accused allegedly stopped his daughter from going to a friend’s place to sleep. The accused slept on the bed while the daughter slept on the floor.

The accused allegedly woke up in the middle of the night and lifted his daughter to the bed. He undressed her and had sexual inter course with her. The minor woke up only to find his father on top of her and sexually abusing her. The complainant pushed her father away and she dressed up.

It is alleged that the accused raped his daughter the whole night only to be stopped by neighbours who heard sounds of people making sex. Since they knew that there was father and daughter in the room they peeped through and allegedly stopped the rape.

They forced the door open and detained the accused until Police arrived.
