Gweru man robbed US $420
GWERU- A man from Hertfordshire, Gweru was robbed of cash and other valuables amounting to US$420 by four robbers after he boarded a silver Honda Fit from Hertfordshire along Harare-Gweru Highway on Monday this week. Midlands Police Spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident to The Mirror.
Inspector Mahoko said on November 14, 2022 at around 4 am Tinashe Mapasura(34) boarded a silver Honda Fit with four other occupants already on board from Hertfordshire along Harare-Gweru highway heading to Gweru.
Upon approaching Regina Mundi Girls High School, the vehicle stopped and one of the occupants produced knife threatened to kill him. The other occupants tied his hands with a rope and searched him, taking away cash, a wrist watch, Paxil A4 cellphone and a satchel with toiletries before pushing him out of the car. They drove away towards Kwekwe but Inspector Mahoko said the registration number unknown. The matter was reported to the police and suspects are still at large.
“We are appealing to members of the public for information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects to approach our nearest Police. We urge members of the public to always use public transport and desist from boarding Mushikashika vehicles when travelling,” said Inspector Mahoko.
