MASVINGO – Four candidates have successfully filed their nomination papers to contest the Gutu West by-election set for November 11, 2023.
There are two new candidates for the by-election following Christopher Mutonhori Rwodzi’s death in a road accident. These are Sebastian Martin Mudzingwa, an independent and Robson Kurwa of the NCA.
Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Ephream Morudu and Zanu PF’s John Paradza are the other two candidates. Paradza and Morudu filed their papers before the August 23, 2023, elections.
The nomination court began at 10 am at Masvingo Magistrates Court yesterday.
ZEC Masvingo Provincial Elections Officer Pudurai Zex Zirabada presided over the nomination process. He said an interparty liaison committee would be set up today.

Morudu is a war veteran and a former teacher.
Paradza is Zanu PF national youth league deputy secretary. He was a legislator before Parliament was dissolved.
