Gutu – Gutu East MP Benjamin Ganyiwa has challenged people from his area; from all walks of life including those in the Diaspora to support development projects in the constituency.
He said there is a sad syndrome in Zimbabwe where MPs who are afraid of losing elections bar others from carrying out development project in their areas.
He said development was not for an individual but for all people (Rume rimwe harikombi churu).
Ganyani invited every son and daughter of Gutu East with development ideas to come and implement them. He said he was not worried by new players even if those people are one day going to challenge him for the position of MP.
Ganyiwa was speaking at the launch of the Mbuya Mary Simbi Computer Lab at Makudo Business Center under Chief Chitsa, Gutu East. He hailed Divine Simbi Ndhlukula for launching the project which will benefit seven primary and secondary schools in the area.
“I want to thank Simbi-Ndhlukula for this grand library for our children. This will not only bring them to the digital world but will cut them off from drug abuse.
“I am proud of her work and in fact I am proud of all progressive people in my constituency. It is sad that so many politicians are afraid of people who bring development to their areas. I have told people that those with development projects must come in their numbers.
“MPs must remember that they are just people and they should give way to better individuals if they come,” said Ganyiwa.
Ganyiwa took the opportunity to congratulate Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, water and Rural Resettlement Anxious Masuka who comes from his constituency for being adjudged the best performing cabinet minister for 2023.
