Gov to issue statement on facemasks

Mirror Reporter

Masvingo – The Deputy Minister of Health and Childcare, John Mangwiro has said that Government would soon be issuing a statement on the continued mandatory use of facemasks considering the vast improvement in the COVID-19 situation.

He was responding to questions posed by The Mirror.

Many countries throughout the World have stopped the mandatory use of facemasks against COVID-19 considering that new infections have dropped to minimum levels and deaths have dropped to insignificant figures.

“We will be issuing a statement on the use of facemasks,” said Mangwiro.

Some Police stations continue to arrest people for not properly putting on masks although large musical shows, football matches and rallies have been sanctioned and participants are not wearing masks.

Police has been accused for arresting members of the public as a smokescreen for collecting bribes.
