Gov to intensify lockdown measures

MASVINGO –Covid-19 lockdown measures are with effect from tomorrow, Tuesday being intensified with only essential services workers being allowed access into town, a tweet from Ministry of Information Permanent Secretary Nick Mangwana has said.

“Yesterday, 133 positive cases were registered. There are some cases of deaths which are awaiting test results on whether Covid-19 was the cause. Security is being tightened to ensure only essential services can be allowed through to CBDs. We apologize for any inconveniences,” reads the tweet from Mangwana.

Efforts to get a comment from the Minister of Information Monica Mutsvangwa were futile as she was in a meeting; Mangwana’s mobile could not be reached for a comment.


Meanwhile the country has 1 611 positive cases from 59 937 rapid Test Kits (RBT) and 41 438 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Covid-19 tests conducted.

Masvingo has 67 confirmed Covid-19 cases, Midlands 145, Manicaland 43, Mat South 210, Mash East 92, Harare 465, Bulawayo 483, Mat North 31, and Mash Central 14 and Mash West 61. https://masvingomirror.com
