GOKWE– A 19-year-old man from Putungwena Village under Chief Nemangwe in Gokwe died on Thursday last week after drinking a pesticide.

The incident happened at a restaurant at Nemangwe Business Centre and it is understood that Kudakwashe Gawa committed suicide following a misunderstanding with a workmate. Gawa and the workmate worked at the restaurant.

Assistant Police spokesperson for Midlands, Ethel Mukwende confirmed the incident.

Sources said that the deceased and his colleague had a misunderstanding on Thursday and they quarrelled over missing money.

After the misunderstanding Gawa went to his house where he consumed the Red spider mite chemical.

“It was noticed that there was a problem when Gawa came out of his room vomiting. An open bottle of

Amitraz 20Ec red spider mite chemical was discovered in the room,” said Mukwende.

Gawa was rushed to Gokwe South District Hospital where he died upon admission.

Mukwende urged members of the public to seek counselling when facing problems.

“We urge members of the public to seek counselling from third parties when facing problems.

We urge them to engage family, village and church elders who can help when misunderstandings arise in our societies,” she said. https://masvingomirror.com
