Gokomere, Runyararo top Grade 7 results

ZRP has the best quality: 56% candidates get 10 units and below

MASVINGO – The Roman Catholic—run Gokomere Central Primary is the best Grade 7 primary school for 2022 for Masvingo Province tied together with Runyararo Primary of Mucheke High Density, judging by the number of candidates who got 10 units and below.
This is according to results released by different District Schools Inspec-tors (DSI) including Ishmael Chigaba from Masvingo District.
Each of the two schools has a bumper 41 pupils who got 10 units and below and they also each have four pupils with six straight units. Goko-mere headed by Celestino Masakadza had 168 candidates sitting for the exams and 24,4% getting 10 units and below while Runyararo headed by Tsungirirai Gonohas 202 and 20,2% getting 10 units and below. Gono retired from her post on January 1 this year.
Meanwhile Gokomere has a slightly better pass rate than Runyararo with 93,3% compared to 91%.
On third place is Francis Aphiri in Runyararo West in Masvingo headed by Henry Maregere which has 40 candidates (15,8%) who got 10 units and below. The school also has two pupils with six straight units making it the third highest. The pass rate for Francis Aphiri is 90.40% and the school had 253 candi-dates.
On fourth position is Hellen McGhie with 35 students out of 113 (30, 9%) getting 10 units and below. The school is headed Sheila Deve and the pass rate is one of the highest at 98,3%. The school however, only had one pupil with six straight units. Helen McGhie used to have the highest number of six straight units in the Province.
On fourth position is Vurombo Primary School in Mucheke, Shakashe in Rujeko and Don Bosco which have 32 candidates each with 10 units and below. Vurombo has two students who got six straight units and 192 students sat for the exams. Some 16,66% got 10 units and below and the general pass rate is 91,1%.
Don Bosco has one student with six straight units and 211 candidates who sat for the exams. Some 15,16% of the candidates got 10 units and below and the general pass rate is 84,5%.
Shakashe had zero students with six straight units and had 219 students who sat for exams. Some 14,6% of the candidates got 10 units and be-low and the general pass rate for the school was 91,7%.
On number 7 is ZRP Zimuto which had 28 candidates with 10 units and below. In terms of quality, the school’s results are probably the best with 56% of the students getting 10 units and below. The school had on-ly 50 students who sat for the exams and the pass rate is 100%. Zimuto probably has the best quality results for the exams. It has one pupil who got six straight units.
On number 8 is Runyararo Adventist with 27 candidates out if 149 (18,1%) getting 10 units and below. The general pass rate in the school was 93,20% and there is one student who got six straight units.
On number 9 is Rujeko Primary with 21 students out of 194 (10,8%) get-ting 10 units and below. The pass rate is 91.80%. This is contained in a report obtained by The Mirror from Masvingo DSI Chigaba.
On number 10 is Victoria Junior with 16 out of 176 (9%) candidates get-ting 10 units and below. The pass rate for the school is 97%.
