Fr Chiorese’s mother dies, buried in Chivi

MASVINGO – Gogo Jester Chiorese (59), the mother to Roman Catholic St Josephine Bhakita Mission priest Fr Tapiwa Chiorese is no more.
She was buried last week at Bare Village under Headman Chipindu in Chivi.
More than two dozen Catholic priests attended the funeral. Two Bishops, Rudolf Nyandoro of Gweru and Bishop Raymond Mupandasekwa of Chinhoyi came through to convey their condolences to the family. The funeral took place a stone-throw away from Berejena Mission.
Gogo Chiorese succumbed to blood cancer. She died at West End Clinic on July 28, 2023, in Harare last week.
The late attended Bondolfi Teachers’ College in 1982 and became a teacher at Bondolfi Primary before transferring to Berejena Primary last year.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Chioresa, three sons, and two grandchildren. Father Chiorese said the family had lost a pillar.
“Mbuya Chiorese was a hardworking woman who imparted good values to her children. Her doctor Kudzai Masinire was her primary school pupil,” said Father Chiorese.
