Four Chikomba ‘stock thieves’ in court

CHIKOMBA- Chivhu Magistrate Sharon Nxogo has remanded four suspected cattle thieves who allegedly deboned two beasts to a later date for continuation of trial.
Edmore Chipangure (33), Isaac Masango Sithole (23), Cephas Joaquim (28) and Ezekiel Mhosva (26) are accused of deboning two beasts belonging to Phenius Musemani.
They allegedly drove the beasts from Musemani’s kraal at night and deboned the beasts at their residency and left hides and heads which were identified by Musemani leading to their arrest.
Prosecutor Ray Tsikayi told the court that the incident happened on March 3, 2023, at Wallas Farm in Plot 17, Chikomba.
The accused drove two black oxen from Musemani’s kraal to Calals Farm where they slaughtered the beasts and deboned them. They allegedly packed the meat into sacks.
An accomplice only identified as Wessy drove a Toyota Wish vehicle with the meat to an uknown destination.
Musemani discovered that his two black beasts were missing from the kraal the following day and he made a Police report.
Police officers attended the scene and discovered two cattle heads at Calas Farm which Musemani was able to identify. Investigations led to the arrest of the suspects.
