MASVINGO – Former District Education Officer for Chivi, Kainus Marambire (71) is no more.
He passed on at Generation Medical Centre in Chivi growth point on Friday last week after battling diabetes for more than 15 years.
Tafadzwa Marambire confirmed the sad news. He was buried at his homestead in Mandiva, Simon village on Tuesday August 3.
Marambire is tributed with the Better Schools Programme (BSP) and Better Environmental Science Teaching (BEST) projects in Chivi. He retired from the Ministry in July 2016.
Munyaradzi Magiga, an Author and former Chinhoyi University of Technology lecturer Munyaradzi Magiga described Marambire as an education legendary in an obituary he wrote.
“We moan an educational expert, a life-long learner, a man with unquestionable leadership, an administration artist and an educational legend,” wrote Magiga.
Marambire was born in Chivi in the Takavarasha area (Zvemhihwa) West. He did his secondary school at Chibi Mission, trained as a teacher at Morgenster Teachers’ College and graduated in 1970. He was deployed to Mandiva Primary school that same year.
He was headmaster at Mandiya until 1988 his appointment as DEO Masvingo and later Chivi.
