Masvingo – A-32-year-old former Police officer, Farai Wilbert Muzengeza was recently arrested after he was found with 3 kg of dagga (mbanje) at the back of his Toyota Mark X vehicle.

He appeared before Magistrate Grace Tupiri who found him guilty and sentenced him to 410 hours of community service at Mashava Police Station.

Muzengeza resides at 29 Wistiria in Mashava.

The crime was committed last year in July when Muzengeza was driving from Mashava to Masvingo. Police officers at the 10 km peg roadblock along Masvingo – Mbalabala, Road received a tipoff that the accused person had dagga in the boot of his vehicle.

Sergeant Jeffrey Chipengo and his team introduced themselves and sought permission to search the vehicle. The boot was opened and a search was conducted whereupon two plastic paper bags full of dagga were recovered. The dagga (mbanje) was weighed in the presence of the accused and it weighed 3,091 kilograms.https://masvingomirror.com
