Former Chipinge Town Chair Mukwapati dies

CHIPINGE- Former Chipinge Town Council Chair and Ward 6 Councillor Lovemore Juro Mukwapati died around 3 am this morning at Chipinge District Hospital after a heart complication. He was 71.
His child Godwin confirmed the death to Chipinge Times in a telephone interview. He said they rushed him to the hospital with breathing challenges.
Godwin said mourners are gathered at C1149 Gaza Township and the family is yet to deliberate on burial arrangements.
“We are saddened by the untimely death of our father. He was a cheerful person who was pro-development,”
Mukwapati’s first term was from 2008 – 2013. He was re-elected in 2018 and served as council chairperson from 2022- 2023 following the recalls done by MDC A leader Douglas Mwonzora.
He is survived by two wives, 10 children and 17 grandchildren.
