Fired Tongogara RDC CEO gets back car

Shurugwi-The court has given back to Former Tongogara Rural District Council (RDC) Chief Executive Officer Brian Rufasha a Toyota twin cab taken away from him when he was fired in November last year.

The council argued that Rufasha was in unlawful possession of the vehicle but Provincial Public Prosecutor Samuel Pedzisai declined to prosecute the matter saying that it was not a criminal but a labour case.

Tongogara Police which was keeping the vehicle was ordered to surrender the vehicle to Rufasha.

Rufasha was found guilty of criminal abuse of office on November 16, 2020. The vehicle was repossesed by the council and it was handed over to Tongogara Police station and the case was sent to Shurugwi Magistrate Court which transferred the matter to the regional court.
