Fire guts Shurugwi TelOne technician’s house

SHURUGWI – A Shurugwi TelOne technician lost his entire property after a fire caused by an alleged electrical fault gutted down a company house he was staying in last Wednesday.
Mathew Muranda told The Mirror that his entire family was at work when the fire broke out from the kitchen.
He said that the he hasn’t ascertained the value of the gutted property and is appealing for assistance from well-wishers.
Muranda said well-wishers and church members have come to their aid with clothes, blankets, food stuffs and other basics.
“Shurugwi Town Chairperson, Fanuel Machiya has given us a place to stay in Ferny Creek suburb. The local community and work mates from across the province have supported us during this difficult time and we are grateful. My daughter lost US$500 that she had saved,” he said.
Meanwhile a hardware shop at Chachacha Growth Point belonging to Zivai Pirimukai was also gutted by fire on Sunday and he lost cash and equipment worth thousands of Dollars.
