ZVISHAVANE- FC Platinum forward Farai Mupasiri is broken following the death of his uncle and mentor Lieutenant colonel Christopher Chikoto who was declared a provincial hero.
Chikoto died after a short illness on April 8 and was buried at Maveta Village under Chief Mazvihwa in Zvishavane on Monday. He was declared a provincial hero and his burial was attended by Brigadier General Simo Maseko.
Mupasiri told The Mirror that Chikoto inspired and motivated him to be best forward since he began playing football. “I am broken by the death of my uncle, he supported me since 2011 when I was playing for Dynamos. Chikoto would always make time to teach me new tricks. He was a wise and intelligent man who loved his work, sport and family.
We talked after every match. “It is hard to lose a mentor, the void cannot be filled,” said a sombre Mupasiri. Meanwhile all Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs are preparing for the bio bubble league set to begin on May 15.
The local league has been inactive since the first Covid-19 lockdown in March 2020. https://masvingomirror.com
