GOKWE- Express Chicken International has opened a fast food outlet in Gokwe thereby bringing quality fast foods deep into rural towns.
Express Chicken’s UK – based managing director Aufi Chewemba Phiri said the venture has been established at a cost of US$150 000 and already 19 people are employed.
For Phiri it is a case of ploughing back home and he says he wants quality foods for Gokwe which is his home area. The outlet opened its doors to the public on Thursday last week and there are plans to consolidate the business in the area by opening more outlets in the vast Gokwe District.
Express Chicken International is located at 67 Commercial Zone, Gokwe Town Centre near Gokwe Town Council offices.
“We decided to open up this fast food store here in Gokwe as it is my home town and we wanted to introduce something new for the people of Gokwe.
“Our flavours and spices are locally obtained and we are engaging our customers to assist us to improve the quality of our food through feedback,” he said.
The outlet is currently open 14 hours a day, opening at 7:30am and closing at 9:30pm. Apart from Gokwe Chicken Express has plans to spread its wings to other towns in the country, said Phiri.
