MASVINGO โ€“ There were wild celebrations at Ndarama High School on Saturday when parents shrugged off the leadership of Ray Muzenda and elected a new School Development Association executive on Saturday.

Enesia Chekacheke was elected the new chairperson.

Muzenda who is accused of bad governance in the school including alleged corruption has been fighting tooth and nail to remain the SDA chair and he was delaying elections by fighting his case in the courts.

Muzenda who was chairman for the last 18 years got an egg in the face on Friday when High Court Judge Sunsley Zisengwe threw out his bid to stop the Saturday elections and ruled that his application was not urgent.

Ultimately Muzenda did not attend the elections on Saturday but one of his executive members Wellington Muchemwa who tried his luck in the plebiscite was thumped and got a measly six votes.

The elections were presided over by Ottilia Maramwidze, a government schools inspector.

The newly elected committe comprise of Enesia Chekacheke as the Chairperson, Annacolletta Mweneziko vice chair, Grace Danda secretary general, Phetezake Zinduku treasurer general while Farai Manyudza, Robson Pahuwa and Priscilla Makonese are the committee members.
