Educationist, transporter Makney’s father dies

MASVINGO-Sekuru Tirivashe Ushemasimba, the father of prominent Masvingo businessman Patrick ‘Makney’ Ushemasimba, passed away last Thursday. He was 86.
Sekuru Ushemasimba was buried on Sunday at his homestead in Machemedze Village, Chief Bota, Zaka.
In an interview with The Mirror, his second child, Peter, confirmed his father’s death. According to him, his father died of old age ailments.
Peter said Sekuru Ushemasimba died at Dr Kudzai Masinire’s surgery in Masvingo.
Sekuru Ushemasimba was born on June 6, 1937, in Zaka into a family of six, three boys and three girls. He was the second-born child.
He attended several schools in the Nyajena region and enrolled at Bondolfi Teachers College in 1957.
Sekuru Ushemasimba taught at several primary schools in Zaka, Charingeno, Mushaya and Musenyereki. He left the profession in 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Shingairai Ushemasimba, six children, three sons and three daughters, 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
