MVUMA-President Emmerson Mnangagwa is today expected to officiate at the giant Chinese iron mining project ground breaking ceremony in Manhize near Mvuma.

Midlands Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Larry Mavima confirmed the development to The Mirror.

“President Emmerson Mnangagwa is today expected to officiate at Manhize Mine groundbreaking ceremony in Mvuma.

“Construction works at the country’s largest Iron and Steel Plant are now at 25 percent,” he said.

The US$1 billion Iron and Steel plant is being developed by Dinson Iron and Steel Company, a Zimbabwean subsidiary of giant steel producer Tsingshan Holdings.

The company with the help of Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) Holdings has constructed a 400kVA transmission power line, a main grid line, to connect Manhize to the backbone grid at Sherwood near Kwekwe.
