MASVINGO – Eben Hardware, one of the leading distributors of farming and agricultural inputs, agrochemical supplies and poultry products has won gold in the Hardware category at the inaugural Masvingo Sundrive Coalition Business Summit and Awards.
The awards were held at a local hotel on Monday and Masvingo Minister of State Ezra Chadzamira was the guest of honour.
The awards citation read, Eben Hardware, led by a visionary woman, has risen to prominence in the hardware industry, demonstrating that excellence transcends gender boundaries. Located in Masvingo’s CBD, the company embodies key qualities such as consistency, growth, and market resilience. Sundrive recognizes Eben Hardware as the Hardware Company of the Year, celebrating its unwavering determination and exceptional contribution to Masvingo’s business landscape.
Prime Steels Zaka was the runner up in the category.
The awards and business summit ran under the theme: Accelerating Sustainable Growth through Innovation, Collaboration, and Inclusivity.
Eben Hardware Director Benonia Machavuda told the Mirror that she is honored to receive such a recognition.
“I’m elated and honored to receive such recognition. This award stands in for all the hard work we put into the business and making our customers happy.
“It is enough motivation to continue amidst hardships since the Masvingo community is recognizing our work as a hardware,” she said.
Other award categories included Best manufacturing company, Private school of the year, Driving school of the year, Radio station and Best brands of the year among others.
Sundrive Coalition Chairperson Innocent Chenjerai told The Mirror that the inaugural edition surpassed his expectations and the next edition will be bigger.
“Our inaugural edition has surpassed our expectations and we are thrilled to see participants from across the province representing the growing business community. We had a solid attendance of 100 people, which is a strong indicator of the commitment and enthusiasm for business growth and excellence in Masvingo.
“It was an inspiring day, filled with incredible networking opportunities, valuable knowledge-sharing, and the recognition of outstanding achievements. Next year, our goal is even bigger. We want to thank our supporters and also extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the 2024 award winners,” he said .
