SHURUGWI – Growing fast food outlet Eat n’ Lick has opened its twentieth shop in Shurugwi.
The outlet situated at Glow Petroleum Filling Station was officially opened by Shurugwi District Development Coordinator (DDC) Romeo Shangwa last Friday.
Eat n’ Lick managing director Tsitsi Musabayana said they hope to create employment for locals and contribute towards economic growth in her speech.
“We started Eat n Lick in 2015 and this is our twentieth branch. Eat n Lick is known for its superb customer service. We have meals for everyone like the miners’ combo which consists of a quarter chicken, large chips and a drink for US$5. So far 17% of our employees here are locals and we want to increase it to 30%,” said Musabayana.
Shangwa applauded the fast food company for opening a branch in the district and urged them to embrace competition from other players.
“As the Government, we promise to support this local brand that has opened a branch here. We expect local farmers to benefit from this project as they will sell some of their produce to the company,” said Shangwa.
Gospel musicians Mathias Mhere and Taurai ‘Gringo Junior’ Boora entertained the gathered crowd.
