GWERU–Leading agriculture equipment dealer, Duly’s has delivered three brand new tractors plus their trailers to Gweru City Council at a cost of US$93 000, the local authority’s spokesperson Vimbai Chingwaramuse has confirmed.
The two tractors which are going to be used in the Engineering Department and the third by the Housing Department have since been commissioned by the City Council.
Chingwaramuse said the procurement is in line with the local authority’s thrust to build a sustainable and prosperous city of choice by 2030.
“Three tractors were delivered to us today. As a local authority we are happy about this development because these tractors are going to be dedicated towards ensuring quality services to our valued clients, residents and stakeholders. We bought these tractors at a total cost of US$93 000,” she said.
She said the local authority is fully committed to excellent service delivery through procurement of latest, ideal, state – of – the art equipment or vehicles from reputable companies such as Duly’s.
“Gone are the days when we gave excuses over failure to attend to blockages and burst pipes. We now have tractors that will transport both workers and equipment to attend to faults in the city. The tractors will be in different local areas and therefore able to swiftly attend to problems,” she said.
She said the other tractor will be used by the Housing and Community Services Department for cutting grass on road sides.
Chingwaramuse urged residents to continue supporting the local authority through payment of rates which she said is key to income generation.
“We want to thank our valued stakeholders for paying their bills as this has helped us to buy these service vehicles,” she said.
