Dhikinya bounces back as Chikomba chairman

CHIKOMBA – Israel Dhikinya has bounced back as chairman for Chikomba Rural District Council.
He beat two other Zanu PF candidates in the race for election as he garnered 30 votes against Musekiwa Chugwa’s 8 votes and Virginia Bimha who got 1 vote.
The elections were held on Wednesday last week. Dhikinya was Chikomba RDC council chairman from 2018 and he was first elected into council in 2013.
Dhikinya is being deputized by Zanu Pf councilor for ward 7, Florence Madzamiri who gained the post uncontested.
Born in 1974 to John Tarwirei and Angeline Tarwirei, Dhikinya has two siblings. He went to Mahusvu Primary School and Mahusvu Secondary
He is a business man by profession.
Dhikinya currently runs businesses like bottle stores, farming and he is also into the transport business. He is married to Calista Dhikinya and they have four children.
Speaking in an interview with The Mirror Dhikinya said he will be on a drive to bring investors into the small transit town. He said this is necessary in order to create jobs for thousands of unemployed youth.
“It is clear that my fellow colleagues allowed me another term because they realize the progress we have been making. I also look forward to building a bus terminus so that vendors will get decent places to sell their goods from,” said Dhikinya
Dhikinya was Finance Committee chairperson at one time.
