Craft Properties donates wheelchairs to Masvingo PWDs

MASVINGO – Craft Properties has donated 10 wheelchairs to People with Disabilities (PWDs) in Masvingo.
The wheelchairs were handed over to the beneficiaries by the land developer’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kudakwashe Taruberekera and Masvingo City Mayor Aleck Tabe at the Civic Centre last Friday.
The handover was attended by Masvingo City Chamber Secretary Vitalis Shonhai, councillors, PWDs and other stakeholders.
Craft Properties a land developer is based in Kadoma and has offices in several districts including Masvingo. The company has been developing land for over 16 years.
Taruberekera who hails from Chivi said the donation is part of his company’s Social Corporate Responsibility (SCR). He said that they are carrying out several other CSR projects.
He added that they will hand over 10 wheelchairs and 10 residential stands to PWDs in Kadoma. Five other residential stands will be given to people with albinism, he said.
“I was born in Takavarasha area, Chivi and today I am in my hometown. As Craft Properties Pvt Ltd we have taken it upon ourselves to assist people with various disabilities wherever we can by providing them with homes, a fundamental human rights as well as adequate health care.
“We are constructing school blocks at Eastelea Primary School in Chakare, Mashonaland West Province. We want to support today’s beneficiaries with poultry projects. The company is drilling boreholes, constructing classrooms, clinics, developing agro stands and residential stands. We are assisting the underprivileged people with different projects around the country by giving them projects or giving them residential stands, “he said.
Tabe applauded Craft Properties and said the City will identity land to donate to PWDs.
“I am happy that our partner has donated wheelchairs to our members. Council will identify land where PWDs can carry out their businesses. We applaud Craft Properties for helping us as you know there are many rich people in this country but they find it difficult to donate to the PWD community, “he said.
One beneficiary, Modester Majedu thanked Craft Properties for assisting her with the wheelchair.
“I am happy that I received a wheelchair and I want to thank Craft Properties for assisting us,” he said.
