Gweru – Forty-five prominent Gweru residents including business persons have appeared on a list of people alleged to be Covi-19 positive.

The list has gone viral leaving the named persons stigmatized and isolated in public places.
Midlands Provincial Covid 19 task force chairperson Larry Mavima described the publisher of the list as an irresponsible person who should be arrested if he or she is found.

He said it was illegal to publish people’s medical records without their consent. Mavima dismissed the list as probably fake.

A businesswoman named in the list expressed shock at the inclusion of her name.

“I have never fallen ill or been tested for the virus and I think this is someone who is just being malicious. I suspect that this person is trying to sabotage my business,” she said.

ZRP National Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said he is not aware of the list.
“I have not yet been told about that may you contact the province,” said Nyathi.
