Con’s Food fast food outlet opens in Chiredzi

Chiredzi – A new fast food outlet, Con’s Food has opened its doors in the sugarcane town of Chiredzi.

The outlet which is run by Brenda Hwarare, a computer programmer by profession specializes in foods like Pizza, Burgers, Rice and Chicken and is located at number 631 Mopani Drive, in the Central Business District.

Hundreds of people thronged the outlet on its opening yesterday.

The Mirror had a chat with Hwarare who assured clients to expect the best quality food and see food standards go up in Chiredzi.

She hinted that the standards of fast foods shops in the town were going down because of lack of competition and added that her arrival is going to shake the sector.

Hwarare promised clients meals that are savoury.

Hwarare was born in Harare and she did her primary and secondary education at Don Bosco Primary School and Victoria High School in Masvingo. She then did her Computer Programming Diploma at the then Great Zimbabwe College before working for Zimbabwe Sugar Milling Workers Union.

“After I finished my studies I tried to work at ZISMWU but I realised that my passion was in business. I ventured into clothing industry and opened my boutique called Dream Pride,” she said.

Hwarare said food business has always been a calling for her hence she had the itch to move there.

“I started my small grill two years ago and it went well, I then decided to open a food outlet in Beitbridge when the famous OJ food outlet in Beitbridge closed down.

Hwarare said her vision is to open other food outlets countrywide.

“My vision is to open another food outlet in Masvingo because I grew up there. I also wish to go as far as Harare, I am somebody who does not fear competition,” said Hwarare.
