ZVISHAVANE – Zvishavane businesswoman and Isheanopa Group of Companies Executive Director, Sylvia Choruwa is the 2023 Megafest Award Businesswoman of The Year.
She received her award at a function held at a Bulawayo hotel last Friday. Her group’s manager, Wadzanayi Mugangavari was also awarded as the Youngest Manager of the Year.
Choruwa told The Mirror that she hopes that her award will motivate other women to be entrepreneurs.
The award came on the backdrop of her winning the Zimbabwe Institute of Management Southern Region Excellence in Leadership and Management Businesswoman for 2023.
“I am grateful for the award and I urge other women to start businesses and not give up,” she said.
Isheanopa Group of Companies has a diversified portfolio including hardware, furniture, clothing, electrical hardware shops and recently animal husbandry and commercial poultry.
She began her empire in 2008 in Zvishavane and has spread her wings to Mberengwa and Shurugwi with over five branches.
Mugangavari urged young women to be productive.
