Chivhu – Eat ‘n Lick which has become a popular fast food outlet in the transit town of Chivhu is introducing a biogas system to deal with land pollution

The soak away system has been overflowing to nearby houses as the place is waterlogged and there were complaints from residents. The biogas system will become the first in Chikomba District.

Eat ‘n Lick managing director Tsitsi Musabayana confirmed the development and added that the construction of the biogas digester is already underway and is expected to be complete by end of this week.

“The soak away system doesn’t seem to be working well because the premises is built in a water-logged place and waste is flowing from the area around septic tanks into nearby residential areas. We only realized it when we had already started operations

“Neighbors have complained about the waste and we are currently constructing a biogas system,” said Musabayana.

Chikomba RDC Chairman Israel Dhikinya said the construction of biogas system was new in the district and a noble gesture from the organisation.

The fast food outlet opened its Chivhu branch in June this year.
