Chivhu men kill fellow resident over US$5

Chikomba – Three men including a 17-year-old juvenile have been arraigned before Chivhu Resident Magistrate Sam Chitumwa after they allegedly assaulted a man from the same town and took away his Itel phone and US$5.
The incident happened at Chivhu Location Shops in Chivhu at around 11pm on May 17, 2022.
Ashton Tadiwanashe Mandaza (19), Takawira Dzvova (52) and the 17-year-old (name withheld) were remanded in custody to June 3, 2022.
It is the State case that on May 17, 2022 at 11pm the three were at the shops and they connived to rob the now deceased Tazvivinga Ngundu. Mandaza approached Ngundu at a bar he was drinking.

He started assaulting the now deceased with clenched fists and booted feet and he hit his head against a braai stand several times. Machingauta and Dzvovava then joined in and kicked Ngundu until he fell unconscious.
They searched the deceased whilst he was unconscious and took away his Itel cell phone and US$5.
Ngundu later regained consciousness and crawled home and was taken to Chivhu District Hospital. He narrated what happened on his death bed and identified his attackers.
He succumbed to hemorrhage shock on May 19, 2022.
