Chivhu FC promoted to D1

Chikomba– Chivhu FC which has been the pace setters in the lower league has received a letter of promotion to Eastern Region Soccer League (ERSL) Division 1.
Chivhu completed the season on second position with 51 points, three points behind FC Hunters that gathered 54 points. The team played 23 games.
Coach Herny Zindoga who guided Chivhu FC is overjoyed. He was however cautious as the team is facing challenges to raise affiliation fees of US$3 000.
Club secretary Simbarashe Bako urged community leaders including politicians and business people in Chikomba to come forward and sponsor their home team.
“We are very happy as we have received our letter of promotion into Eastern Region Soccer League. We have raised Chikomba flag high in terms of sports. We extend our gratitude to all Chivhu executive, players and fans for having faith in the team,” said Zindoga.
“We continue to urge all residents of Chikomba to support our team. With their support we are sure to get into Premier League,” said Bako.
