CHIVHU – Chivhu businessman Kirsty Muzana (46) is in court for illegal power connections and for assaulting Police while resisting arrest.
Muzana has become a regular face at the courts for various cases.
Chivhu Regional Magistrate Sam Chitumwa granted him US$80 for the illegal power connections made at his Muzana Lodges and US$50 for resisting Police arrest.
Muzana was allegedly assisted by Wellington Chinyama in resisting arrest.
He was ordered to stay at House number L494, Chivhu location and not to interfere with State witnesses.
Muzana has another ongoing court case where he is fighting the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) over ownership of a 5 hectare piece of land which he claims he was given by the late Chikomba RDC CEO Luckson Mutara.
He was recently acquitted in a case where he faced charges of running two lodges, Muzana and Mhofu without a trading license.
He argued in court that the lodges were run by his wife and not him.
Taonga Masaire prosecuted.
