CHIREDZI-Chiredzi Town Council (CTC) has appointed Kudzai Chimusoro as its Public Relations Executive from September 1, 2023.
She confirmed her appointment in an interview with The Mirror and said she would improve relations between the local authority and its stakeholders.
“Yes, I can confirm that I am the first CTC substantive Public Relations officer. I am geared to putting the council on the map by bridging the communication gap with different stakeholders,” said Chimusoro.
Before her appointment, she was a Public and Guest Relations Manager at Palm Tree Place in Chiredzi from 2017.
She holds a Media and Society Studies Bachelor of Science Honors degree from Midlands State University (MSU). She enrolled for Public Relations at the Institute of People Management of Zimbabwe in 2013.
Chimusoro worked as a Human Resources Manager at Rukova Quarries from 2012 to 2015. She then relocated to South Africa and worked at ButterKnife PR Firm as a senior Public Relations executive.
She was born and bred in Chiredzi. She attended Chiredzi Government Primary School. Chimusoro did her O and A Level at Harare Girls High School and later enrolled at MSU.
She told The Mirror she is working on an online budget consultative platform for stakeholders who cannot attend the physical meetings.
Chimusoro also noted that communication is the key to the organisation’s success, and many organisations have looked down upon communication.
“I have already started working on the online budget consultative software where various stakeholders who cannot attend physical meetings can also participate.
“Communication is key to the success of any organisation so I will engage different stakeholders and will also try to bridge the gaps because stakeholders and residents need to know the projects what their council is doing,” said Chimusoro.
