CHISHAMISO STADIUM – Chiredzi Stars has beaten Lowveld United for the second time this season.
Chiredzi Stars beat Lowveld by two goals to nil in a local derby played at Chishamiso Stadium on Saturday. In an earlier derby Lowveld was beaten by 1 goal to nil.
Chiredzi Stars has collected maximum points in the last three matches. On Saturday, midfielder Bhekimpilo Shoti’s shot found the nets just three minutes into the game.


The determined Chiredzi Stars FC could have recorded another goal 12 minutes into the game. This was after Shoti who was determined to score many goals started causing havoc in the opponents’ box.
Chiredzi Stars Captain Tafara Ginya released a long-range scorcher unfortunately, Lowveld United goalie was prepared, and he punched the ball over.


Lowveld United played like a wounded lion and tried to find the nets, but luck was not on its side.
Midfielder Given Chudu scored the second goal 30 minutes into the game.
After the oranges, Lowveld tried a comeback, but it was indeed not their day.
Lowveld United gaffer David Tapinda was visibly shaken by the outcome.


“My team lacked depth in attack, and we will work on our mistakes,” said Tapinda who is a man of few words.
Chiredzi Stars head Coach Kudakwashe Machera was all smiles and praised his boys for being purposeful and playing according to instruction.
