CHIREDZI – Chiredzi Rural District Council (CRDC) has begun parceling out 600 residential and commercial stands near Rupangwana Business Centre at the order of Masvingo and Manicaland.

The area is near the Save River and attracts hundreds every festive season. 

CRDC chairperson Aspect Mashingaidze told The Mirror that they have set aside land for a hotel and construction will begin once an investor comes on board. 

“The place is a gateway that links Manicaland and Masvingo provinces so many people from the two provinces throng the area especially during festive season. There are limited facilities in the area and we have set aside land for 600 residential and commercial stands,” said Mashingaidze.

“We are currently availing stands and construction of a hotel will begin once an investor comes on board because the plan is already there. Rupangwana Business Centre is near Save River and is a tourist attraction,” he said.

Acting Chief Tshovani born Addmore Mundau applauded CRDC for the initiative. He said many people in his area celebrate the festivities at the business centre. 

“We love development and council is putting us on the map. The area has been attracting many people especially during the festive,” said Chief Tshovani.

Rupangwana Business Centre is famed for attracting many people from Chiredzi, Checheche, and surrounding areas especially during festive holidays.
