Chiredzi – A Chiredzi businesswoman, Muchaneta Josaya who was running a shop at Chibwedziva Business Centre was found hanging from a tree near the Commercial Sugarcane Farmers’ Association offices on Thursday morning.

Masvingo Provincial spokesperson Kudakwashe Dhewa said he was yet to receive the report.

However, the deceased’s aunt Ester Manyanye confirmed the suicide to The Mirror.

The hanging body of Josaya was discovered by a Chikombedzi veterinary officer who had disembarked from a bus.

On the fateful day, Josaya met her pastor Oriah Kufera of Zion Christian Church (ZCC) and he prayed for her.

“Josaya was not feeling well and at times she would act as if she was possessed. After conducting prayers, she left for home,” said Kufera.

He also said that he was astounded to receive a call from Josaya’s son around 0300 alerting him that his mother had left the house.

“I later on heard that Josaya had been found and we went there and found her lifeless body hanging on a tree,” said Kufera.

“Josaya was somebody who had suffered so much trauma, she lost her helper on May 7 and in that same month she lost her brother and her other brother is battling for his life at a local hospital,” said Kufera.
