Chipinge Town secretary granted $20 000 bail, barred from visiting office

Chipinge – Chipinge Town Secretary Susan Dube has been granted RTGS$20 000 bail and barred from visiting council offices until investigations are finalised.

She was remanded to 29 March 2021.

She appeared at the local Magistrates court this afternoon charged with criminal abuse of office after she allegedly allocated a 1 000 square metre residential stand to a trainee under a scheme meant for permanent employees.

Magistrate Poterai Gwezhira has also ordered Dube to report twice a week to CID Chipinge on Mondays and Fridays until her case is finalised.

She is required to remain on her current residence and not to interfere with the State witnesses.
