Chinese mine constructing primary school in Shurugwi

SHURUGWI – Chinese gold mining company Ladville is constructing a new primary school in Shurugwi North as part of its Social Corporate Responsibility to the community it is operating in.
A groundbreaking ceremony for Safago Primary School was held last week at the site where toilets, boreholes and foundation for classrooms have been completed.

Pupils in the Safago area walk at least 10 km to the nearest Guinea fowl.
Shurugwi North legislator Joseph Mpasi Ladville is also supporting over 50 households with food stuffs.
“In a testament to their commitment to assisting the community Ladvillie is also giving groceries to 50 households with elderly residents every month. The construction of the school has already commenced with the initial progress made on the construction of toilets, school foundation and drilling of a borehole. Twenty thousand bricks and 600 bricks were donated,” said Mpasi.
Ncube urged other mining companies to emulate Ladville and embark on life changing CSR projects.
